Overview:
As Marketing Director for Womenful Voice, Inc., Maya Parkins led the promotional campaign for Empowerment Night, a flagship fundraising and cultural celebration held on Haitian Flag Day (May 18). The purpose of the event was twofold: to raise funds for our programs supporting Haitian women and girls escaping abuse and poverty, and to honor Haitian identity and resilience through a vibrant evening of music, food, art, and storytelling.

The key marketing deliverables included social media graphics and event posters that celebrated Haitian pride, empowered our community, and strategically reached our target audience: the Haitian diaspora and allies interested in human rights, women’s empowerment, and global development.

Challenge:
Womenful Voice needed to drive strong attendance and donor participation while maintaining cultural authenticity and visual appeal in its outreach. The challenge was to not only engage current supporters but also to attract new audiences from the broader Haitian diaspora—particularly in U.S. cities with large Haitian communities like Miami, Brooklyn, and Boston.

Objectives:
Design visually compelling social media graphics that represent Haitian heritage and empowerment.

Target Haitian diaspora audiences using demographic and behavioral data.

Leverage social media AI tools to optimize timing, tone, and visuals for each segment.

Raise awareness about Womenful Voice’s programs and generate donations.

Strategy:
To ensure the campaign’s success, Maya Parkins and her team implemented a multi-pronged digital strategy:

Culturally Rooted Design:
Maya Parkinss and her team created striking, culturally resonant visuals featuring the Haitian flag, traditional patterns, Creole phrases, and illustrations of empowered Haitian women. The campaign aesthetic centered around vibrant red and blue color palettes, interwoven with empowerment quotes and fundraising calls to action. Posters were designed using Canva Pro and optimized for Instagram, Facebook Stories, WhatsApp, and mobile flyers.

Data-Driven Targeting via AI & Analytics:
Using tools such as Meta Audience Insights, Hootsuite AI recommendations, and Instagram analytics, Maya Parkins identified Haitian diaspora audiences based on:

Geographic regions with high Haitian-American populations

Interests and behaviors related to women's rights, nonprofits, Caribbean heritage, and international development

Language preferences, optimizing posts in both English and Haitian Creole

Time zone-based engagement patterns, which shaped our post schedules

Social Amplification:
Maya Parkins and her team launched a countdown series with speaker highlights, musical guests, and spotlight stories of Haitian women impacted by our programs. We also mobilized our internal team and external partners to reshare and repost, using branded hashtags like #EmpowerHaiti, #FlagDayPride, and #WomenfulVoice.

A/B Testing for Creative Optimization:
Using social media AI tools, Maya Parkins and her team tested different combinations of headline text, visuals, and captions to determine which graphics gained the most engagement. The AI tools helped identify which versions resonated best with target segments based on click-through rates, saves, shares, and comments.
